Recent Progress in Image Deblurring

چکیده
This paper comprehensively reviews the recent development of image deblurring, including nonblind/blind, spatially invariant/variant deblurring techniques. Indeed, these techniques share the same objective of inferring a latent sharp image from one or several corresponding blurry images, while the blind deblurring techniques are also required to derive an accurate blur kernel. Considering the critical role of image restoration in modern imaging systems to provide high-quality images under complex environments such as motion, undesirable lighting conditions, and imperfect system components, image deblurring has attracted growing attention in recent years. From the viewpoint of how to handle the illposedness which is a crucial issue in deblurring tasks, existing methods can be grouped into five categories: Bayesian inference framework, variational methods, sparse representation-based methods, homographybased modeling, and region-based methods. In spite of achieving a certain level of development, image deblurring, especially the blind case, is limited in its success by complex application conditions which make the blur kernel hard to obtain and be spatially variant. We provide a holistic understanding and deep insight into image deblurring in this review. An analysis of the empirical evidence for representative methods, practical issues, as well as a discussion of promising future directions are also presented.

Paper Space-Time Coded Imaging for Robust Depth and Motion Deblurring
Recent progress in coded imaging has enabled us to recover sharp images from undesirable image blurs caused by depth and motion. However, the existing methods are limited to single types of blurs, such as depth blur or motion blur. The coded imaging must also tackle the problem of image noise caused by decreasing of input light. In this paper, we propose a method, which enables us to deblur bot...
متن کاملDeblurring Face Images with Exemplars
The human face is one of the most interesting subjects involved in numerous applications. Significant progress has been made towards the image deblurring problem, however, existing generic deblurring methods are not able to achieve satisfying results on blurry face images. The success of the state-of-the-art image deblurring methods stems mainly from implicit or explicit restoration of salient ...
متن کاملProgressive Blind Deconvolution
We present a novel progressive framework for blind image restoration. Common blind restoration schemes first estimate the blur kernel, then employ non-blind deblurring. However, despite recent progress, the accuracy of PSF estimation is limited. Furthermore, the outcome of non-blind deblurring is highly sensitive to errors in the assumed PSF. Therefore, high quality blind deblurring has remaine...
متن کاملEfficient Face Image Deblurring via Robust Face Salient Landmark Detection
Recent years have witnessed great progress in image deblurring. However, as an important application case, the deblurring of face images has not been well studied. Most existing face deblurring methods rely on exemplar set construction and candidate matching, which not only cost much computation time but also are vulnerable to possible complex or exaggerated face variations. To address the afor...
متن کاملDepth and Arbitrary Motion Deblurring Using Integrated PSF
In recent years, research for recovering depth blur and motion blur in images has been making a significant progress. In particular, the progress in computational photography enabled us to generate all-in-focus images and control depth of field in images. However, the simultaneous recovery of depth and motion blurs is still a big problem, and recoverable motion blurs are limited. In this paper,...
